What is Manual Therapy?
As a field of practice inherent to physiotherapy, manual therapy is a system of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal issues employed through joint mobilizations, in conjunction with patient education and exercise, with the goal of regaining optimal mobility and function, and of reducing pain. (Canadian Physiotherapy Association).
The areas that a physiotherapist can treat with manual therapy include:

· the shoulder and the collar bone
· the elbow
· the wrist and hand joints
· the sacroiliac joint (between the pelvis and the sacrum)
