Deja originally studied dance arts on scholarships with L'École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec, L.A.D.D.M.I., Harvard Summer Dance, SUNY Purchase, and Barat College. Deja was a recipient of the Columbia College Chicago Choreographic Award. She obtained a BFA (Honours) in Dance and Liberal Arts from Barat College, and a BSc in Athletic Therapy from Concordia University. She is a member of the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association, and has continued the evolution of her studies at the Collège d’Études Ostéopathiques.
In the past 20 years, Deja has worked extensively with individuals exhibiting acute and chronic physical and medical challenges. She draws from her training in Pilates rehabilitation, classical ballet, dance pedagogy, and Athletic Therapy clinical and field experiences, to treat dancers, athletes, seniors, prenatal & postnatal clients, and chronic back pain sufferers. Deja enjoys collaborating closely with health-care and rehabilitation specialists; together implementing treatment plans which incorporate appropriate therapeutic modalities to address the specific needs of individual clients. Deja practises Osteopathy as a diagnostic palpatory 'listening' tool to re-establish optimal tissue/structural integrity in order to aid the body systems to re-establish a dynamic equilibrium.
